Prep (High) School Math Teacher
The Prep School Math Teacher will teach grades 9-12. We expect the new hire to honor student thinking and curiosity as they discover the many patterns that unveil the big ideas of prep/high school mathematics.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach various sections of Prep School math and possibly assist with temporary coverage of other courses.
- Use technology (specifically Geometer’s Sketchpad and Mathematica) to create professional and meaningful content and assessments.
- Provide thoughtful, individualized feedback and support to students.
- Work closely with colleagues, the department head, and prep school administration to support the academic, social, and emotional well-being of all students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s degree is preferred
- Minimum of three years full-time teaching experience
- Valid State Certification is helpful but not required, preferably in middle or secondary math
- Proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom
- Ability to communicate effectively and establish rapport with families both orally and in writing
- Prior experience teaching prep/high school students preferred
WORK HOURS:
- 7:30am-3:30pm Monday through Friday
- Weekly faculty and department meetings until 4:30pm
- Start Date: This position is for the 26-27 School Year with the new hire orientation beginning in late August.
COMPENSATION:
The salary range for this position is $71,000 -$118,500 based on completed degree programs and years of lead teaching experience. We also offer a warm and supportive culture as well as exceptional benefits including but not limited to:
