MIDDLE SCHOOL ENGLISH / HISTORY TEACHER POSITION

Teachers hold primary responsibility for the implementation and development of the CGPS curriculum and the success of its students. The Middle  School English / History Teacher is committed to continuously improving curriculum and instruction for these subject areas through collaboration as part of a grade level departmental team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implements curricula and activities to meet academic standards
  • Designs and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards
  • Uses assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices
  • Participates in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions
  • Provides consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior
  • Is accountable for students’ mastery of academic standards
  • Communicates effectively with students, families, and colleagues
  • Provides a multitude of cultural lenses to instruction
  • Creates classroom and school environment where students are expected to take responsibilities for their decisions and conduct themselves with excellent character

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required; NYS Teaching Certification preferred
  • Mastery of and enthusiasm for English and History;
  • Drive to improve the minds and lives of students in and out of the classroom;
  • Proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom;
  • Evidence of self-motivation and willingness to be a team player;
  • Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is preferred; and
  • Valid State Certification is helpful but not required.
  •  Belief in and alignment with CGPS’ core beliefs and educational philosophy is non-negotiable


COMPENSATION

The salary range for this position is $71,000.00 - $118,500.00 We also offer a generous compensation package.
