Middle School English Teacher

 

The Middle School English Teacher will teach grades 6-8. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, a collaborative nature, a track record of effective teaching, a deep knowledge of middle-school English curriculum, and an appreciation for the uniqueness of middle-school students.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and implement innovative unit plans that reflect sequential learning with differentiated activities based on students’ knowledge and skills.
  • Use department guidelines to assess and evaluate students throughout the year, maintaining records, and writing report cards accordingly.
  • Provide meaningful, individualized feedback and support to students
  • Collaborate positively and respectfully with members of the Middle School, the English department, other colleagues, school administrators, students, and families.
  • Responsible for coverage of duties, as assigned.
 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s degree is preferred 
  • Minimum of three years full-time teaching experience
  • Valid State Certification is helpful but not required, preferably in middle or secondary science 
  • Proven track record of high achievement in the classroom
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish rapport with families and students both in writing and orally

WORK HOURS:

  • 7:45 am - 3:15 pm Mon-Fri
  • Bi-weekly faculty meetings until 4:30 pm
  • Start Date:  This position is for the 25-26 School Year with the new hire orientation beginning in late August.
 

COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this position is $71,000 -$118,500 based on completed degree programs and years of lead teaching experience. We offer highly competitive salaries, exceptional benefit package, and a warm and supportive culture.
